Olívia Almeida is PhD candidate in Public Administration, research assistant to the UNESCO Chair in Community-Based Research and Social Responsibility in Higher Education, and graduate student fellow at the Centre for Global Studies. She holds an MA degree in Development Studies with a specialization in Public Policy and Management from Erasmus University’s International Institute of Social Studies, in The Hague.
She has previously worked with water, sanitation, and hygiene provision as a Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) officer at the border between Brazil and Venezuela, and her work and research take special interest in community engagement, participatory mapping, critical cartography, border studies and water governance.
