COVID-19 information

UVic continues to monitor and manage the impacts of COVID-19 in our community. We are now managing COVID-19 as one of many communicable diseases that can affect us all.

Communicable Disease Prevention Plan

We each play a role in preventing and reducing communicable disease on campus. The UVic Communicable Disease Prevention Plan outlines steps for all students, faculty, staff and visitors to follow.

If you are sick

  • stay home until you feel well enough to return to regular activities and no longer have a fever
  • let your instructor or supervisor know about your absence
  • call 811 or your medical provider if you need medical advice
  • follow the BCCDC guidance on how to self-monitor and self-isolate if you are ill

Students: request an academic concession (undergraduate) or leave of absence (graduate) if you need to miss an exam for health or personal reasons.

Vaccinations

Getting vaccinated is the most important step you can take to protect yourself and others from the negative effects of COVID-19.

in the Student Union Building provides flu and COVID-19 vaccinations on campus.

COVID-19 testing kits

COVID-19 rapid antigen at-home test kits are available at local pharmacies while supplies last.
