Biography

ᑕᐣᓯ Tansi / Hello!

My name is Hannah Mashon, I am Cree with relations to Saddle Lake Cree Nation in Alberta on my father's side and Ukrainian and Scottish on my mother's side. I have been living as an uninvited guest on the territory of the Lək̓ʷəŋən peoples, the Songhees, Xwsepsum (Esquimalt) and W̱SÁNEĆ Nations for the last 20 years. I am forever grateful to live, work and play and create my own spiritual connections to these beautiful lands and waters each day.

After graduating with a BFA in visual arts from the University of Victoria I developed a strong sense of devotion to Indigenous communities after further exploring my own cultural connections. My shared passion for the arts and serving Indigenous communities in B.C. led me to a career in communications.

Hiy hiy / Thanks!
