Celebrating the Retirement of Dr. Andrea Piccinin

We are pleased to celebrate the upcoming retirement of Dr. Andrea Piccinin, as she steps into a well-deserved retirement this July.

Andrea joined the Department as an Assistant Professor in the Lifespan Development area in 2009. In her research, she used longitudinal designs and sophisticated statistical methods to study cognitive skills in later life from an individual difference perspective, with particular emphasis on the impact of risk factors and disease on later cognitive functioning. During her tenure at UVic, she was promoted to Associate and then Professor. She held many different administrative positions and contributed extensively to the working of our department. She has been a great colleague, appreciated for her honesty, collegiality, and modesty.

We sincerely thank Andrea for her many years of dedicated service and valuable contributions to our department. We wish her all the very best as she embarks on this exciting new chapter in her life.
