Faculty bio

My research interests lie at the intersection of social/personality psychology, educational psychology, and applied linguistics, focusing on motivation, identity, intercultural communications, and intergroup relations. One research area examines beliefs and motivations influencing language development and intergroup processes, including how social factors shape mindsets and goal pursuits in language learning and communication.

Another research area explores diversity and intergroup relations, such as discrimination, identity, and intergroup contact. Current projects involve using technology and games to improve intergroup relations and family’s ethnic socialization.
