See our investments at work

Our working capital investments are used to support the growth of our university. We invest in initiatives that stand to make a positive social and environmental impact on campus and the broader community. Here are just a few examples of our investments at work.

Transitioning to a Green Economy: the Climate Finance project

A project aimed at expanding the potential of the finance and investment sector to support the transition to a climate-friendly, low-carbon economy has been announced by the University of Victoria hosted and led Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions (PICS). Sustainable student housing takes shape

In September 2022, 398 UVic students will be living in the largest passive house building in Victoria. Featuring concrete and mass timber and, designed with the industry’s most rigorous sustainability and energy efficiency requirements, students will be able to enjoy all the best on-campus living can offer while also knowing they are in a state-of-the-art green building. Working capital fund fossil fuel free

UVic's working capital fund is free of fossil-fuel investments with the move of $80 million to a short-term bond fund that focuses on reducing the carbon intensity of investments within the pool.

Construction begins on UVic's Student Housing and Dining project The initiative will create 621 new student housing spaces, plus a modern 600-seat dining hall, classrooms and conference space.
