Thank you so much! Your support is greatly appreciated. You can right away.
On the form where it says "Designation", choose "Other fund" and write the name of the fund, project or award in the box that opens up below. We'll get in touch if we need more clarification.
You can also call 250-721-7624 or email giving@uvic.ca for help making a gift.
Yes. You can specify this when making your donation online, by mail or however you make your gift. We will mark you as anonymous to ensure that your name is not published anywhere. If you made a gift to a tribute fund or to honour someone, we won’t share your name with the honouree.
All of your donation goes directly to the fund you choose. For example, if you give to an annual student award, 100% goes to student recipients. UVic does not take an administrative fee from your gift.
For research-related donations, standard indirect costs may apply to support the infrastructure that makes groundbreaking work possible—like labs, equipment, and research staff. This will be clearly outlined in the gift agreement.
Review our giving options and check our gift acceptance policies and procedures.
If you graduated from UVic, or are the family member of a UVic alum, you can make your donation directly to the University of Victoria by credit card or cheque. Get more information about giving as an international donor.
Contact Donor Relations and we will look up your donation records.

Consolidated tax receipts for monthly donations are sent out in February for donations made in the previous year. If you haven’t received your tax receipt, email Donor Relations and we will send you a copy.
Tax receipt
If you made your gift online, you should receive a tax receipt via email within 24 hours. If we don’t have an email on file for you, we will issue your tax receipt via mail within 30 days. We follow the Canada Revenue Agency guidelines for issuing charitable tax receipts.
If you have set up a recurring gift, consolidated tax receipts for monthly donations are sent out in February for donations made in the previous year.
We can send replacement tax receipts. Contact Donor Relations with as many details about the gift(s) as possible, such as what you supported, the gift amount and the date of the gift. Even if you don’t remember this information, we can still reissue the receipt.
Contact Donor Relations with the tax receipt number, your correct full name and address (for identification purposes) and the name on the original tax receipt.
Note: we can only issue tax receipts to the person who provided the funds.
As a Canadian university, we process donations in Canadian dollars. Gifts received are automatically converted by our financial institution.
If you are a UVic alum living in the US, you may be able to use your Canadian dollar tax receipt for your US tax return. Check with your accountant or local tax office for more info. Read more information for international donors.
