Anne and Doug McLaughlin Scholarship

Anne and her late husband, Doug, both taught in British Columbia’s public school system. They each attended Victoria College and the University of British Columbia. Doug happily taught Industrial-Education in the Victoria School District for many years.

Anne received her Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia in 1953, and in 1971 completed a Master’s degree at the University of Oregon.  She worked in the public high school system and then joined the University of Victoria’s Faculty of Education in 1963, where she remained with the School of Physical Education until retiring in 1991.

Ever engaged, Anne went on to share her many skills and abilities as the Director of the Faculty of Education’s Advising Centre from 1970-1991.  She served as President of the Alumni Association from 1994-1996, and currently represents the Alumni Association on the UVic Senate Committee on Honorary Degrees and Other Forms of Recognition.
