Affinity Law Group Financial Hardship Bursary

Darcy L. Wray graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Victoria as part of the Class of 1990. In 2010 he founded and was the principal of Affinity Law Group. During his time attending the Faculty of Law at the University of Victoria he experienced financial hardship. At that time there existed an impromptu Dean’s discretionary fund that was available, at the discretion of the Dean of the Faculty of Law, to provide financial support and assistance to law students experiencing financial hardship.

Darcy applied for and received an advance from this fund, which made a material difference in his ability to successfully complete his studies that year. The Donor wishes to ensure that this financial resource remains available to other students that may be experiencing similar financial challenges while striving to complete their law degree.

Darcy has personally funded a gift to the Dean’s financial hardship discretionary fund for many years, and the Donor decided to establish this formal Bursary to memorialize this ongoing commitment.
