Audain Professorship in Contemporary Art Practice of the Pacific Northwest

The Audain Foundation has provided financial support for visual arts in British Columbia since its incorporation by Michael Audain in 1997. Endeavors generously supported by the Audain Foundation include exhibitions, publications, museum collections and the annual Audain Prize for Lifetime Achievement in the Visual Arts.

Michael Audain, great grandson of James Dunsmuir, attended Victoria College from 1959-60 and is the Chairman of Polygon Hornes Ltd. A philanthropist as well as businessman, Mr. Audain is the Chairman of the Audain Foundation for the Visual Arts in British Columbia. He is a generous supporter of visual arts and culture in British Columbia and throughout Canada, showing a specific interest in aboriginal and contemporary art. Mr. Audain is dedicated to raising awareness of Canada's artists and is an avid art collector.
