Bob Worth Award in Economics

Bob Worth graduated from UVic in 1967 majoring in Economics and Political Science.  His goal was to become a Chartered Accountant but preferred a liberal arts university experience over the more focused curriculum of obtaining a B.Comm.

Bob did his articles at Price Waterhouse where he remained for 12 years heading the entrepreneurial private business practice for the last seven. He then spent 5 years each as Vice President Finance of CANA Construction in Calgary and Laurentian Pacific (now Intact) property and casualty insurance in Vancouver and Montreal.

Bob returned to UVic in 1990 where he was the Executive Director of Financial Services responsible for the university’s accounting, treasury, risk management and purchasing units. Since retirement, Bob has served as Chair of Heritage Realty overseeing the large Michael Williams’ real estate and art bequest and as a Trustee of the Faculty and Professional Employees Pension Plan. He views his UVic study of economics as foundational in his successful and exciting career.
