Bob & Nancy Love Bursary

This bursary is being established by the Love family to honour their parents, Bob & Nancy Love. Bob Love was a wonderful husband, father and physician. He loved all aspects of clinical medicine. Even into his late 70’s, while living in a nursing home, he would ask his son (a family physician) if he had seen any interesting cases recently that they could discuss. He was very supportive of all his children when they were at school and was very generous with his support,

Bob was born in 1924 in Quebec City. He attended McGill Medical School where he graduated in 1950. His schooling was sponsored by the Veterans Assistance Program. He worked as a General Practitioner in Fruitvale, BC and finished his Internal Medicine residency in Vancouver. He then moved to Trail where he worked until 1972. Nancy Law grew up in Montreal and met Bob while studying to be a teacher at McDonald College. She has always been a very supportive wife and mother, and was involved in many volunteer activities (Red Cross, United Church, Transition House and Talking Books delivery to name a few.

Bob & Nancy had four children, Heather who is a nurse, Robin, a family physician, Rosemary, an elementary school principal and James, a musician. They were active in the United Church, owned a summer cottage at Christina Lake, loved music, bridge, hockey and their friends.
