British Columbia Psychological Association - Certificate of Excellence in Psychology

This medal is awarded to a graduating psychology student from the University of Victoria Graduate Program who has demonstrated outstanding academic achievement in their class. 

Since 1942, the British Columbia Psychological Association (BCPA) has represented psychologist in British Columbia.  It is a voluntary body and is committed to advancing psychologists, the interests of psychologists and the psychological well-being of all British Columbians.  The BCPA sponsors professional development and networking activities for members, publishes a quarterly news-letter – “The BC Psychologist” – and operates a free province-wide referral service.  It is also committed to working with provincial leaders to expand the role of psychologists in health care, and to contribute to public policy matters.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, the BCPA Awards Committee grants an annual award on the recommendation from the University of Victoria’s Department of Psychology.  The recipient receives a gold-plated medal, an award certificate of recognition, an invitation to the awards reception.
