Christine St. Peter Scholarship
Professor Emerita Christine St. Peter was hired in 1987 as the first full-time faculty member of Women's Studies and served as its first Chair when WS achieved department status in 1995-96.
Christine was awarded the UVic Alumni Excellence in Teaching Award and the Faculty of Humanities Excellence in Research Award.
She worked tirelessly on behalf of the department, its students and women at UVic until her retirement in June, 2011. Knowing how difficult it is for most students to finance their education, she gave special attention to the establishment of bursaries and scholarships.
More than 100 former and current students, colleagues and friends donated to establish this scholarship in Christine's honour.
