Curry Bursary

Leone Curry has established two other awards in Alberta in memory of her parents.  She is a great supporter of higher education.

In her day it was important to her parents for their children to have a high school education which was a rare thing.  Grade VIII was when most students quit as it was considered adequate education at the time and they were needed to help out at home.

Ms. Curry states “nothing changed my prospects more than completing high school”.  She feels today’s “world asks for more than hers did in the way of qualifications.  But the rewards are still there”.  She now has a special interest in funding an award for single mothers entering the University of Victoria.
