Dennis, Jerome, and Peter Zachary Award in Ukrainian Studies
Dennis, Jerome and Peter Zachary are three brothers who were born and raised in Victoria, BC, by Michael and Olga Zachary. Michael and Olga were displaced persons of Ukrainian heritage arriving in Canada shortly after the Second World War. They met and married in Toronto.
Tragically Dennis died at age 23 in a motor vehicle accident in 1976. Jerome and Peter are both graduates of UVic.
