Don Knowles Memorial Scholarship

Don Knowles was a professor in the Faculty of Education’s Department of Psychological Foundations and a deservedly loved teacher and mentor. He was a guiding presence in terms of his commitment to scholarships. He was constantly focused on conducting meaningful research and inquiry, and doing so in the correct and ethical way.

His areas of particular interest in research were loss and grief among children and adolescents and working with gifted children. His teaching interests spanned child adolescent development and research skills in counselling.

Don maintained a focus on the larger issues and concerns, and was able to bring these into the consideration of the details of teaching and research activities - a rare gift in that he fostered these values and concerns in those he worked with.

Dearly missed, Don will always be remembered by the many people whose lives he touched.
