Ed Chala Memorial Men's Soccer Award
In June 2021 Edward Chala passed away leaving a large hole in the lives of all those he inspired. Ed was a member of the “original” UVIC soccer team, playing from (1963 to 1967). He was a gifted athlete as he was quick, agile, and equally important, someone who read the game and his fellow players very well. Ed set high standards through his performance. Following his career with Vikes, Ed brought his love of the game to coaching youth soccer with the Calgary Minor Soccer Association for over 20 years.
In celebration of Ed’s impact on Vikes Soccer, and to support future Vikes men’s soccer student-athletes, Ed’s family, friends and team mates have created this endowed award in Ed’s name.
