This scholarship is made in memory of Ella Brown, our kind and beautiful daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece and friend who touched so many. Ella inspired us on every level. She excelled in academics and athletics, but it was her caring nature, her sense of humour, her adventurous and curious spirit and her fierce determination that we cherish.

Ella formed so many lasting friendships and her laughter and wry smile lit up every room. Ella never ceased to amaze us. She studied hard, worked part time, went to the gym and always found time for friends and family. Ella completed her second year at UVic and was planning for a Master's that included studies abroad. We are proud to honour Ella with the Ella Brown Memorial Scholarship to support and inspire other female students who share her interest in global studies.
