Gregory Blue Scholarship in Global History

Dr. Gregory Blue retired from the History Department at the University of Victoria in December 2014 after 25 years as a dedicated scholar, teacher and advocate for World History.  He worked across disciplinary boundaries to maintain History’s role in dialogues about the world and about what might constitute a socially just future.

He believed strongly in World History and was particularly dedicated to integrating the Global South into the scope of History as a discipline. This scholarship pays tribute to Dr. Blue by supporting excellent students with a commitment to World History, with a focus on the Global South.
