G. H. Wheaton Bursary

Mrs. Juanita Wheaton Tully wishes to establish this bursary in honour of her late husband, George Henry Wheaton. Mr. Wheaton (1912-1980) was the first in his extended family to attend university. Because of inadequate finances at the height of the Great Depression, he was unable to complete his studies at UBC. Nonetheless, he was encouraging of and committed to personal lifelong learning.

He was an avid reader and a student of various subjects in a variety of fields. It is Mrs. Wheaton Tully's desire to honour him with a bursary to be awarded to a student who demonstrates financial need as well as a commitment to learning.
