Greg and Tanya Kuhn International Student Award

Greg has worked for Alumni and Development at the University of Victoria for the past three years; prior to this he served for 22 years in the Royal Canadian Navy. As an officer in the Navy, he spent much of his career deployed overseas working with a number of international Navies and organizations to advance global security, peace and education. Tanya works at the Cridge Centre for the Family; their mission is to “Provide excellence in support, housing, education and community, by working together to restore hope and a future to those overcoming the challenges before them.” Many of those that they serve come from the international and refugee community.

Over the past eight years, both Greg and Tanya have also worked as homestay parents for international student that attend Victoria Academy of Ballet and Victoria High Schools. Many of these students went on to further their post-secondary education here in Canada. Through this they have built strong relationships with many of these kids and have a heart to assist international students further their education at UVic.
