Dr. Hinda Avery Holocaust Studies Scholarship

Dr. Hinda Avery had family members who were killed during the Holocaust. She is a former women's studies professor, art teacher and an artist. Her works include a series of paintings about the "Rosen Women", a group of superhero female resisters (resisterrrz).

A film about Dr. Avery and her art, Hinda and her Sisterrrz, premiered in 2017.

She also directed a film of her own in 2005 about Holocaust memorialization in Germany titled The Art of Apology. Additional areas of interest are animal welfare and the ethics of using animals in science.
