Hazel Lara Joseph Scholarship

This scholarship was established in Hazel Lara Joseph’s name to remember an individual who was highly creative in all areas of Fine Arts; who believed that education was a normal part of existence and who lived with music and writing as a constant part of her life. Hazel Lara Joseph (married: Prior) died on March 6, 2005 and this is in memory of her eclectic and loving spirit.

Hazel came to Victoria from London, England (born in Calcutta), bringing with her a rich history from her studies and life in London, and from her life and travels in Paris, Italy, India, Spain, and Russia, to mention a few. Several years ago, Hazel worked at the University of Victoria in Greek and Roman Studies as a staff member.
