James McRae Award in Rowing

Jim McRae was the Director of Public Administration at UVic. His commitment as an administrator never diverted him from his love of teaching both in the classroom and in the community. For many years, he directed the Diploma Program in Public Sector Management which made distance education in management available across the country.

Jim was known to be a kind, gracious, courteous and gentle man. He had gravity, dignity, civility, unimpeachable integrity and honour. He is sadly missed by his family and many friends and colleagues.

To reflect Jim’s interests, the James McRae Award in Rowing has been established by his family and friends to assist a member of the UVic Rowing Team.
