Throughout Mike's life, both his early years growing up in Vernon and later in his life living in Victoria, he was loved by all that knew him. His kindness, easy going style and incredible sense of humour attracted countless friends. Mike also had a passion for entrepreneurship that led him to a Bachelor's degree at UBC, a chartered accountant degree and many business successes. He is best known in this regard for his 21 years building Uniglobe Pacific Travel to one of the largest and most successful travel businesses in the area.

Mike was also well known for his love and ability for the game of golf. In his early days he competed in the BC Junior championship several times and throughout his life he always maintained an enviable handicap. Most of all, his family will remember him for his love of family and the legacy he has left behind.

In honour and memory of Mike, the “Mike Monahan Golf Award” will carry on his legacy and reflect his love for the game of golf.
