Dr. Marion Porath Awards
Dr. Marion Porath, BEd, MA (UBC), PhD (UofT, Ontario Institute for Studies in Education) taught for over ten years in the public school system in the primary grades. Many of those years were in an open-area setting in Mission, BC. Marion was very creative and artistic and encouraged these traits in her students.
Her focus at UBC was in high ability in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology, and Special Education. Marion was a true mentor to so many of her students and it is in that spirit that these scholarships are established.
