Nancy Lamb Awards

Nancy Lamb Chemistry Scholarship

Nancy Lamb Scholarship in Piano

Nancy Lamb was born and raised in Hong Kong. After acquiring her BSc at the University of Hong Kong, she immigrated to Canada to pursue a PhD at the University of British Columbia with focus on organic chemistry. Following a year of post-doctoral research at the University of Alberta, she started in 1980 her working career at the University of Victoria as a laboratory instructor in organic chemistry. Although Nancy was relatively quiet in nature, she got along well with her colleagues and students. In memory of her enjoyable life at the university, a scholarship has been set up to assist two outstanding students to proceed with their doctoral programs in organic chemistry ($5,000 per person per year).

While working in Victoria, Nancy also enjoyed attending concerts of music students at the Philip T. Young Recital Hall, particularly piano performances. Thus, a scholarship of $1,000 per year has also been established to award to a distinguished graduate student in the School of Music.
