Easton Scholarship

A former public servant and wheelchair track athlete, Robert Easton competed for Canada from the mid-1970s until his retirement from competition following the 1988 Seoul Paralympics. Recognition for Robert's contribution and athletic achievements includes induction to the Canadian Paralympic Hall of Fame (2013) and the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame (2000).

Other scholarships his family has established include the Easton Family Scholarship (1992) at the University of Alberta.

Robert feels the determination, discipline and grit gained from youth involvement in sport and how interests in reading, science and the arts impacts one's goals, education options and future career opportunities. The UVic Easton Scholarship reflects his interests, Vancouver Island family connections and is part of a quiet effort to "give back" to communities.
