University of Victoria German Club Jubilee Award

The University of Victoria German Club was established in 1973, by students and faculty of the Department of Germanic Studies.  The purpose of the group is to organize student activities to provide exposure to the German language and culture.  The Club has been holding regular meetings since its inception, and as well has organized coffee houses, lectures and discussions, various weekend excursions such as ski trips, and other social activities.

The U.Vic German Club established the University of Victoria German Club Jubilee Award in 1977 to stimulate students of German and to reward academic excellence in this field.  Funds for the awards are raised by the students of the Club.

In addition to pursuit of excellence in German, members of the Club maintain an active interest in international relations.
