Christina Hoicka publishes new research in Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews

January 09, 2025

Dr. Christina Hoicka, UVic Geography

Congratulations to UVic Geography professor Dr. Christina Hoicka on the publication of their latest research in Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews (Vol. 211), titled:

“The Political Economics of Civic Energy: A Framework for Comparative Research.”

Co-authored with Dr. Anna Berka (Massey University, NZ) and Dr. Karl Sperling (Aalborg University, DK), this work develops a framework for evaluating and comparing civic energy policy. The research considers the extent to which distinct political economic contexts shape opportunities for civic energy policy, and how those policies often spill into other aspects of public and political life.
