For help with:

  • choosing classes

  • honours or co-op questions

Email geogadvising@uvic.ca with your questions. Please include:

The advising team can answer your questions or book an appointment with our undergraduate adviser.

For the BSc Climate Science program, please email climateadvising@uvic.ca.

We offer 4 study focus areas: physical geography, human geography, environmental geography and geomatics. Select some upper-level courses and work backwards from there to create your program plan.

If you want a pre-requisite waived, the first step is to get written permission from the instructor. After you have that, send the following to geogadvising@uvic.ca:

  • a copy of the course instructor's written permission
  • a pre-requisite waiver form with the student information and student declaration sections completed

For an override of the year standing requirement for a course, please email geogadvising@uvic.ca. Include your full name, student number and the course(s) you want an override for.

Overrides will only be considered if you are close to achieving the required year standing:

  • first year: <12 units of credit
  • second year: 12-26.5 units of credit
  • third year: 27-41.5 units of credit
  • fourth year: 42+ units of credit
