Transportation & parking

UVic is easily accessible by public transit, bike or carshare. For cyclists, we have our Campus Bike Centre, which offers a brightly-lit and secure space to leave your bike.

Students board a BC transit bus while another student places their bike on the front rack.

Sustainable transportation

We’re committed to making transportation to UVic as sustainable as possible. From bike sharing and carpooling to public transit, there are many sustainable ways to get to campus.

Taking transit to UVic

UVic provides subsidized bus passes to all students. Our bus loop is one of the most active transit hubs in Greater Victoria, making it easy to travel to and from campus by bus.

Parking rates & permits

If you park on the Gordon Head campus, you need a parking permit Monday to Saturday, 24 hours a day.

All parking permits at UVic are virtual. Your licence plate acts as your permit and you don’t need to display a physical permit.

Visitor parking

Visitors may park at a short term meter or they can purchase an online virtual parking permit. Parking permits are available at permit dispensers, which you can find in any numbered parking lot outside of Ring Road.

Parking office

The parking office is in the Campus Security Building, which is near the bus loop and the UVic Bookstore.
