Other logos

You can use a modification of the crest for alumni communications and marketing materials. Size, colour and spacing standards are the same as for the university crest.

Coat of arms

Use the coat of arms for:

  • convocation
  • greeting a new chancellor or president from another university
  • installation or retirement functions for the chancellor or vice-chancellor/president

If the coat of arms is required for events not mentioned above, contact the University Secretary for permission.

Combined logos

For combined UVic mark + unit and university crest + unit versions, please contact Printing Services.

Non-UVic organizations

When a non-UVic organization asks for permission to use the university crest or UVic mark, there are certain criteria that must be met:

  1. They must have a formal partnership, relationship or sponsorship agreement with UVic or one of its units.
  2. The crest guidelines and mark guidelines must be followed.
  3. The crest cannot be combined with another logo or name.
  4. to University Communications and Marketing for approval.

Sponsor & partner logos

Official sponsor and partner logos of UVic initiatives can be used in communications and marketing materials provided they don't compromise UVic's brand identity.
