Bio
Dr. Rochtchina was born and grew up in Russia, graduated and received her PhD in Russian Studies from the M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University. Her PhD thesis examined some of the dramatic changes in contemporary Russian language which was heavily influenced by word and structure adaptations from English.
Since 2002 Dr. Rochtchina has been teaching Russian language and culture at UVic. Her primary research interest is in language pedagogy and Russian cultural studies.
She is the author of beginner Russin textbook . Her has been up and running for over two decades.
Русский: Юлия Викторовна Рощина родилась и выросла в России, окончила филологический факультет МГУ имени М. В. Ломоносова и защитила кандидатскую диссертацию в области морфологии русского языка. Диссертация посвящена изменениям в современном русском языке под влиянием заимствований из английского.
С 2002 года Ю.В.Рощина преподает русский язык и культуру в Университете г. Виктории, Британской Колумбии. Научный интерес — методика преподавания РКИ, русская литература и культура.
Ю.В.Рощина автор учебника по русскому языку в двух частях. Ее изучать русский язык пользуется популярностью уже более двух десятилетий.
